DP is fully supported. Adapting it to HDMI is quite easy. Getting VGA to work is difficult if even possible at all. I've used many DP to HDMI cables/adapters on Dell and HP PCs and they always work well.

That just means that you have not configured the graphics correctly, the drivers have not loaded.
