OpenCore install stuck on or after USB detection

Turns out I didn‘t had either one of the USB kexts in my installer….
I feel a little bit stupid now.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!!

Now the installer boots to the Apple graphics.
For whatever reason those screens are in cyrillic/russian language.
I tried resetting the NVRAM in the OC boot (option 3), but the installer stays in russian…

Cheers,
John

Ok, now I got it !
First edit the prev-lang:kbd field in the config.plist (delete/leave the value empty)
Then reset the nvram
Then reboot again
Then you‘re asked by the installer about the language you want.

I guess that‘s a practical joke for all the first-time OpenCore users?

Cheers,
John

The rest was easier than expected.

50 minutes later I have Monterey installed on my WD_black SN850.
Wifi, Bluetooth and on-board audio worked immediately!
The Radeon X5700XT is recognized and used as main output device with 4k resolution on my Dell monitor.

Only the onboard LAN is not recognized yet, but I‘m sure I‘ll figure that one out too.

Once again thanks for the input here - macntosh and 6900Merc !
That hint with the USB kext was worth a lot.

Cheers,
John

Good to know.

Sometimes it's the obvious things we miss. Cheers.
