Core i7-9700k 8-Core 3.6GHz

MSI AMD RadeonRX 5500XT
Bought the hardware for a Catalina build almost 2 years ago and never got around to doing it. My current machine is still running El Capitan so it's definitely time for the upgrade. Needless to say, it's been a while since I have played around with installs.

Big thanks to nottooshabby, flavioalves, nathanh0, and G5Heaven for their posts on Gigabyte Z390 builds. Have gone through the whole Dortania guide and played around with various entries but can't seem to get things to the install screen. Specs below, EFI folder, config.plist, and output attached to message. Any help deciphering the output log would be appreciated!

I'm starting with OpenCore 0.7.4 since that is what is being used on these older builds.

GIGABYTE Z390 UD LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z390 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i7-9700K Coffee Lake 8-Core 3.6 GHz (4.9 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 95W BX80684I79700K
MSI Radeon RX 5500 XT DirectX 12 RX 5500 XT MECH 4G OC 4GB 128-Bit GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 HDCP Ready Video Card

No experience with OpenCore myself as I don't plan to upgrade past Catalina on my system. I mainly run High Sierra and Mojave anyway and I don't need any software that requires the newer MacOS versions, so I will be fine.

I still use the old Clover (5119 to be precise) to boot and run MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 (and also Sierra 10.12.6 / High Sierra 10.13.6 / Mojave 10.14.6) on my main system based on a Gigabyte Z390 motherboard.

You can still use Clover (before 5120) to boot Catalina on your system, I believe.

If you still want to use OpenCore (which I know is recommended) I suggest you attach your entire EFI folder for others to help investigate.

Good call on posting the entire EFI folder, forgot to do that. We can closeout this thread as the issue has been resolved. Culprit was a damaged or old installer. Downloaded a fresh updated copy and all is well!
