OpenCore can modify my BIOS or is this magic?

BIOS: I've disabled my current hackintosh disk.

Plugged in a brand new disk to a clean Monterey install, used open core (-v) verbose. Went fine. Disconnected the disk.

BIOS: enabled my old hackintosh disk back.

Old clover boot is now in VERBOSE mode!!!

How come? Is this magic?

Boot flags stored in NVRAM ?
Try clearing NVRAM and see if it makes a difference.

Isn't NVRAM emulated? How can it survive hard resets?

Not if your board supports it natively.
