Hello,

I am currently running 10.6.7 on a build very similar to tonymac's Mini ITx build with the exception of i7 860, 9800gtx, and 8gb ram.

Everything is working fine, with the exception that it only displays that 4gb of ram are installed and that 4gb often gets maxed out and slows down the computer.

The hardware overview displays only 4gb of memory, but the memory slot shows 8gb Ram installed. I understand that often the "about this mac" is wrong, but my machine is actually running like it only has 4gb, not just saying it. Any suggestions? Here are some screens.

or you can add one check if its recognized and then reboot and so on...

When booting from iBoot you are limited to 4 GB of active RAM. Once you install a boot loader and boot from the hard drive all 8 GB will be available.

Hi MacMan

Could you go into any further detail or suggest what to search for regarding the limitation or what installing to loader to disk changes? I have run into the same problem, just having switched to iboot. Previously I always kept my boot loader on a sperate disk (small flash drive), never Intalling the boot loader to disk.

My first instinct is that the kernel may not be launching in 64 bit, but that may not be right.
