Ohchang's build: Gigabyte Z590 Vision G + i7-10700K + AMD RX580

bravo very impressive
well done once again

Feel free to delete if this is too offtopic:

I noticed that the Vision G is about 150€ cheaper than the Vision D (at least in Germany.)

Vision G (March 2021, 250€):
3x M.2 PCIe 4.0 + 1x M.2 PCIe 3.0
- No Thunderbolt 4 only an internal Thunderbolt-Header (for which extension card? Is there a Gigabyte TB4 card already? I think there is only this TB3 card on the market.)
1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gb/s)
2x USB-A 3.1 (10Gb/s, Z590)
1x Strange "Vision Link" port that is a USB-C 3.0 with DisplayPort 1.2 (5Gb/s, PD, max. 60W, Z590) (Is this a fancy name for DP 1.2 with Power Delivery? I don't get it. What is this? How should you use it?)

Vision D (March 2021, 400€):
1x M.2 PCIe 4.0 + 2x M.2 PCIe 3.0 (+1x M.2 PCIe 3.0 cannot be used, occupied by Wi-Fi)
2x Thunderbolt 4 (Intel JHL8540 - Maple Ridge, this port also supports USB 3.2 2x2 (20 Gb/s))
- No USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gb/s)
2x USB-A 3.1 (10Gb/s, Z590)
1x Wi-Fi/BT AX200 (Which is somewhat supported, and cannot be replaced with a BCM94360NG, because it is a CNVi port! (In contrast to AMD B550 boards or the Z590i Vision D board, which offers a regular M.2 E-Key without CNVi))

So it all boils down to the Vision D offers Thunderbolt 4 (that also features USB 3.2 2x2 (20Gb/s)), the cheaper Vision G-Series does not. For both, you need to buy another Wi-Fi card (e.g., a Fenvi T919) because the port is a CNVi port, which only supports Intel cards.

The Z590 Vision D supports AX210. It comes with the AX200 instead of the AX201. So you can use the AX210 with it.

I already made up my mind, given that the TB4 ports only support USB 3.2 and that I do not own any TB device, I opted for the Vision G board, and invest the saved money into a RX560, because it looks like my RX 6700 XT is not supported any time soon. Thus, I will use two different GPUs at the same time, use the 6700 XT for gaming on Windows 10, and the RX560 for working on Big Sur.

Meanwhile, I also invested 40€ in a FV-T919 (BCM94360CD) because it works out of the box.
FYI: According to the OpenIntelWireless project, the AX210 is currently NOT supported.

Edit (I updated my old post, they ship AX200, not AX210, sorry for the confusion):
GIGABYTE Z590 Vision D
Manual: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 - Port: CNVi

GIGABYTE Z590I Vision D
Manual: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 - Port: M2_WIFI

If you want to get sleep to work make sure to set the internal USB ports to INTERNAL (255) in your USB SSDT so that the onboard USB devices don't wake your system as it goes down to sleep.

I also cannot believe that a RX560 that I paid approx $100 for three years ago is now worth over $300. What a time to be alive.

Your ideas sound solid to me. Have fun!

I need your help, I have the same mainboard but with I10900K and Radeon VII. i cant even instal MacOs,Can I use your EFi folder for USB Stick?
Sure. The M/B is the most important gear in the Hackintosh installs. Same board can use same EFI files. But, some components are different, so you have to modify a few files or settings.

Almost Done ;)

UPDATE - Ver 0.4
- Fix USB Ports map settings - Sleep and Wake work well
- ETC

Just a quick hat tip and thank you @ohchang

Thanks to your help, my new Hackintosh is running smoothly for over 24h now. I made some adjustments to your config.plist using the "OpenCore Configurator."

My setup:
CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz
Mainboard: Gigabyte Z590 VISION G (Bios F4d)
Memory: 4x 16GB DDR4-3200 Kingston HyperX Fury
GPU #1: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT - Primary GPU on Windows
GPU #2: AMD Radeon RX 560 - Secondary GPU just for macOS

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (as of March 2023)

Win: PCIe 4.0 M.2 WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD 1TB
Mac: PCIe 4.0 M.2 WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD 1TB
Data: PCIe 3.0 M.2 ADATA XPG Spectrix S40G NVMe SSD 4TB

The new PCIe 4.0 disks are freaking hot
CrystalDiskMark_20210421014521.png

Wi-Fi: Fenvi T919 (BCM94360CD)
PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 11 750W
Case: be quiet! Pure Base 500DX

Because I need DRM, I use SMBIOS iMacPro1,1. I "disabled" the iGPU in the BIOS, because I do not need it.
It took me quite some time to "disable" the RX 6700 XT though. My current solution is not perfect but okay, it somehow works :D

Something that is a bit odd, ever since I used OpenCore I now see a new "unknown device" in my Windows 10 device manager that I cannot fix/install/uninstall/remove. A quick Google search suggests it has something todo with USB
