Last night my buddy and I pored over the details and specs for hours for a new set of twin 8700k GA z370N ITX builds we were hoping to make. We just about pulled the trigger, but after one more peruse through the details, I discovered that there's no USB 3.1 gen2, and being ITX, there would be no hope of ever having anything faster than gen1...

Is there ANY itx board that plays well with MacOS and USB 3.1 Gen2?

Well, there are ASRock Fata1ty mini-ITX mobos, availible in Z370 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157794) or Z270 chipsets, with Thunderbolt 3... which is compatible with USB 3.1 gen2 in USB-C footprint. Appearently no one has get the Thunderbolt working flawlessly on the forum with these boards, but USB 3.1 gen 2 should be doable.
There are also several mobo (e.g. this ASUS: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813119036) with (strangly) onboard USB 3.1 Gen2 front panel connectors, but no rear panel ports.

The front panel connector, male and female.
If your case have front panel USB 3.1 gen2 ports, or if you are willing to do some slight modifications (with a USB3.1 gen2 to front panel connector cord, say something like this), that would be a solution too.
Hope these helps.
