I'll be back to post details but I'm so tired...

SO this summer has been tough. Ive spent it entirely building case mods from mac pro or g5 cases. I started with a G5 and was very unhappy with the results because i didnt buy laserhive peices and lack the setup for cutting myself. I did another. This one was better but then i found the mac pro case. My goal was to make as little cuts as possible, to not have to move the rear exhaust fan from its current location. But as you can see i really deviated. This occurred because of the AIO i went with which when front mounted takes up space required hot swap tray and would not fit the shroud for ther original mac pro front fan

I call it the OfferUp Dark Unicorn because 90% of the pieces for this build came used or new but deeply discounted from OfferUp and i have a rgb uptop like a unicorns horn.

This build is made up of the following:
Intact and working Mac Pro A1186 that came with (3) 2 TB Hard drives in the slots ($75)
Intel i5-9400f + AsRock B365M iBuyPower only version (used - $150)
6 Corsair HD120 Fans ($20)
AMD Radeon RX 5500xt (new $150)
ATNG 1000w PSU ( used $40)
MasterLiquid ML240L V2 RGB (new $40)
516 GB Nvme SSD (used $30)
Acrylic sheet - (used $5)
2 TB Seagate drive (new Amazon $40)
32GB Corsair Vengeance LXP (new BestBuy $140)
Corsair Commander Pro - (new BestBuy $70)
Front panel UsbC - Usb 3.0 - Audio (new Amazon $24)
MaxUpgrades MiniSas to Sata - (new Maxupgrades.com $40)

I've since switched the AIO to a NZXT Kraken X62, swapped the top and front fans to LL120s .
Then I cut and 3 Acrylic covers for the hard drives to throw more lighting into the case.

If only I was able to fit my corsair Vengeance RGB sticks in

Hi there.

Please post your own thread in the Support forums. This is someone else's MacPro Case Mod thread.

For example:

1) Have you modified the exact same case and components?

2) Are you using the NZXT Kraken X62 ?

3) It looks as though you are running Corsair iCue software ?

Please start your own thread and explain more, or no-one can help you.

Thanks.

I also tried to make one myself. Trying to make as few cuts as possible was my goal. However, ai tried it once and failed. I tried again and also didn’t like the result. So I decided that I had already wasted too much money with no result. It was time to take it to a professional. My only request was for the light to look just like the one from https://www.vont.com/product/vont-bulb-color-smart-light-bulbs-smart-bulbs/. I had it as a kid, and I guess I missed it too much. I wanted some memories back. It was successfully done so I advise you to ask for help too. Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck.
