NVIDIA has released alternate graphics drivers for OS X El Capitan 10.11.5. These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. These drivers have been known to solve OpenCL issues with certain applications, as well as providing better native GPU power management for certain devices.

NOTE: These drivers are currently the only method to get full acceleration for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, 750 Ti, 950, 960, 970, 980, 980 Ti, and TITAN X 'Maxwell' graphics cards. There are no current Macs with these cards, so support is absent natively in OS X.

If you've installed the drivers before, you may get a notification to update to the new drivers from the built in System Preferences pane.

How to Install the Web Drivers:
In order to use the alternate drivers on a CustoMac, you must first install the driver package. Also make sure to choose NVIDIA Web Driver using the standard menubar or system preference pane then reboot.

If drivers do not initiate, add nvda_drv=1 to Clover config.plist under Boot > Arguments.

Good news, after installing 10.11.5 and the new Nvidia drivers I immediately tested Illustrator and Photoshop 2015 and determined that no artifacts are present. Illustrator after 15 minutes has not crashed. Font menu now shows correct, black preview of the selected fund. The graphics card is turned on in the two programs. That is until now probably the best combination of OS X, Nvidia driver and the two programs.

Unfortunately Illustrator is yet crashed. Rrrrrrr!
GPU off in Illustrator!

Thanks tonymacx86 thanks nvidia! love you all, with nvidia everything goes well but planning second hackintosh with R9 280x as it got that OpenCL power, I know its working OOB but I don't know if it gonna work with new upcoming Apple OS X as I don't trust on any kind of support from AMD

Anyway, updated via provided 10.11.5 Combo and nvidia links with no issue, it also solved some micro graphical problems on photoshop, screenflow and CyberLink Power Director.
Thanks :headbang:

Any info on support for upcoming GTX 1080/1070? I'm looking forward to picking one of those for my soon-to-be win(gaming) + hackintosh build and I would love to use it on both OSes.

No new drivers yet. We'll have to see if NVIDIA releases updated drivers after the launch of the 1080 on May 27.

We're waiting on /System/Library/Extensions/NVDAGP100HalWeb.kext :)

Black screen on boot, but when I check via screenshare from my other install, I notice it has "Connected projector: iMac" at the top. Is my setup somehow projecting rather than using my display?

The issue with illustrator can be solved by switching to AMD. I swapped out my 980ti for a R9 380. The was a 4 point difference in Cinebench. Not much of a drop. I prefer the AMD cards now, as there is no artifacts in PS and Illustrator never crashes.

I've been thinking about. But to me, the R9 380 a little outdated. It consumes almost double of the power, is also noisy. The GTX 960 is silent in OS X, the fan does not rotate. The GTX 960 also has HDMI 2.0. But let's see. If there is no other way ...
