I cannot get NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB card to run. When I switch to nvidia web driver & reboot it goes back to the OS X default graphic card driver. Any suggestions please?

Make sure you have nvda_drv=1 in your boot args

If you use a GTX580 both these new drivers and CUDA install and work. Just remember to do the following;-

1. tick/Inject Nvidia using Clover on the boot config.plist
2. also enable the nv driver with nvda_drv=1 in the boot part of clover/config.plist
3. install cuda from nvidia site (google it)

This will also ensure you don't get any crashed from Photoshop/etc.

Be advised: sadly the 346.03.04f02 drivers still result in constant FCPX crashes, as did 346.03.04f01 and 346.03.03f02. This is not just something that occurs with Hackintoshes; there are reports of this happening with 700 and 900-series cards on various hardware configurations, including authentic Mac Pros.

In case anyone was wondering, FCPX is Final Cut Pro X. So unless you use Final Cut Pro X, don't sweat it.

Happens on my rMBP with Nvidia 750M as well as on my Hackintosh with GTX 780.

Fortunately they are natively supported without the Web drivers so that I can at least keep working on my projects but the performance sucks.

Is there a way to get 346.03.03f01 (latest non-crashing driver) working on 10.11.2?

Well, from a software compatibility perspective, the OS X API/ABI hasn't changed, so I guess there is no fundamental reason why it shouldn't work, apart from hard-coded checks in the kext (or installer); then again I have no idea how nvidia's kext is built and why they keep limiting their kexts to specific OS X builds. I'm pretty certain it's theoretically patchable, haven't tried it myself.

I guess the best thing we can do, since this is a legitimate issue affecting non-Hackintosh users too with 'Apple supported' nVidia hardware, is let nVidia know and hope they fix it soon.

The latest version (346.03.04f02) fixed the HDMI port on my GTX980 which wasn't working under 10.11.2.
