NVIDIA has released alternate graphics drivers for macOS Sierra 10.12 Beta. These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. These drivers have been known to solve OpenCL issues with certain applications, as well as providing better native GPU power management for certain devices.

NOTE: These drivers are currently the only method to get full acceleration for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, 750 Ti, 950, 960, 970, 980, 980 Ti, and TITAN X 'Maxwell' graphics cards. There are no current Macs with these cards, so support is absent natively in macOS Sierra.

If you've installed the drivers before, you may get a notification to update to the new drivers from the built in System Preferences pane.

How to Install the Web Drivers:
In order to use the alternate drivers on a CustoMac, you must first install the driver package. Also make sure to choose NVIDIA Web Driver using the standard menubar or system preference pane then reboot.

If drivers do not initiate, add nvda_drv=1 to Clover config.plist under Boot > Arguments.

Hi guys, can't install the new drivers for my 970 :(

You need to edit Distribution file inside the WebDriver package to match the macOS build (use Flat Package Editor). Most probably you will also need to edit the info.plist inside NVDAStartupWeb.kext after installation (also to match the macOS build) - without this edit you wil not be able to enable the web driver. Good luck! ;)

I have no problem installing the driver for my GTX 760 cards.
However, there is no up to date driver for the beta 2.
Still waiting, since many programs have screen crash. I need to Chrome to access to internet.

Bad news for sleep issues on Radeon 7950. Installed Sierra and can't wake-up from sleep. Hope apple update drivers on future releases !!! Anybody tested with different cards ? with my nvidia GTX 770 things worked smoothly.

The new Nvidia web driver just come out. It solves the screen crash problem I mention above.

I have a 980 and it was giving me a lot of trouble but once I had my config file setup correctly I can boot up every time using nvda_drv=1. Attached is my config.plist file if you want to try it. My only boot arguments are nada_drv=1.

Same for Me with 980Ti.

I tried editing NVRAM file to add nvda_drv=1 to boot-args,
and did

sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

which had been suggested elsewhere, but still no good.

nv_disable=1 works every time, but is of course unusable.

IB

Same issue here with a Zotac 970.
