NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.5 (387.10.10.10.35)

On my own rig with a 1070Ti, I lost the ability to wake my screen from display sleep after the latest updates. In following TonyMac's directions, I updated Clover and apfs.efi and then ran the 10.13.5 update. No issues during the update and Nvidia prompted me to update my drivers once the upgrade was complete. Now every time the display sleeps, I am able to wake it with USB devices but while the computer is responsive, the display is frozen - cannot move cursor, etc. - while the computer continues to access the hard drive. So far I've rolled back Clover but the problem persists. Continuing to troubleshoot and will update here if I learn anything new.

UPDATE: Rolling back the Nvidia web driver to version 387.10.10.10.30.107 solved the problem with display freeze on wake. I've since updated Clover to the latest release so everything but the webdriver is updated and everything is back to working normally on my computer.

Can confirm on my build with ASRock Z370 itx/ac and GTX1080. Rolling back solved the wake up to black screen doom that took me two days of debugging.

But version 387.10.10.10.30.107 won't install on 10.13.5.

Is there a way around that?

10. Click Build then Install
If using a GeForce GTX 1050, 1050 Ti, 1060, 1070, 1070 Ti, 1080, 1080 Ti, TITAN Pascal, and TITAN Xp 'Pascal' graphics card or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, 750 Ti, 950, 960, 970, 980, 980 Ti, and TITAN X 'Maxwell' graphics card, macOS High Sierra graphics drivers are not natively supported. Alternate NVIDIA drivers are required.

11. (Optional) Download and install Alternate NVIDIA Graphics Drivers
12. Reboot

Here's a dumb question. (About to do an install on a freshly-built PC.)

In the steps above, it's unclear to me where you have the opportunity to actually install the NVIDIA web driver package. Do you have access to your newly-installed OS at this point? For example, should a 1070 Ti be working well enough that I'll be able to get into the OS, install, and reboot?

Should I instead be installing the NVIDIA web drivers while booted from the flash drive?

Help Please!
I have artefacts on my screen when I log in!

Can't seem to load NVRAM through MultiBeast because it cannot find the apfs.efi file since I'm using hfs. Any ideas how to work around that?

*Nevermind.. Seems to have installed now when I did a bundle install with audio drivers.
