I have an issue with the GeForce 960 4k on my Hacki with ASUS Z97-Deluxe (USB3.1) Board, 2x512 Samsung EVO RAID and 32 GB of RAM. It´s mainly built as a Photoshop and Lightroom (CC2015) workstation, and overall I´m very happy with it.
But since the release of driver 346.02.02f03, PS crashes when using the smart sharpener.
Deactivating OpenCL fixes the problem, but sharpening is more than 5 times slower.
Under 10.10.4, I switched back to 346.02.02f02, and all worked properly with OpenCL on.
Now I´m on 10.10.5, and the problem is back again with 346.02.03f01, and switching back is impossible.
Is anyone here with similar experiences, or an idea how to solve this ?
Cheers
Oliver
Did you find a solution ? I'm also on 10.10.5 using GTX 970 and having lags on Photoshop / Indesign CC with OPENCL acceleration... i've tried 346.02.03f01 and 346.02.03b01 nvidia drivers but no solution yet...
I'm using Imac 14.2 profile... Clover installation with nvda_drv=1 bootflag.
And also in NVIDIA drivers in system preferences i checked "NVIDIA web Drivers" but when rebooting, "OS X Defaults graphics drivers" is always checked... i've tried to recheck Web drivers, but still having lags with OpenCL acceleration...
If someone as o solution it would be great ! I have to work on lot of PSD for a client, and theses lags don't help me !!! (on my macbook pro retina 650M don't have theses lags)...
I had to uncheck the Use OpenCL option in Photoshop CC 2015. I was having lots of crashes and the logs always pointed to OpenCL. Since I turned that off, it has been working fine.
Using Clover the setting in the Nvidia driver manager is just cosmetic. As long as you are using nvda_drv=1 then you are using the Web Drivers.
Ok... but not using openCL with such a configuration, is not using all potential of Photoshop... It should be working...
If someone has ideas... i'll continue searching for a solution on the web, if i find one i'll tell you...
You could try using the 10.10.5 BETA driver instead of the release driver. I personally haven't tried that yet.
Nvidia Web Driver - 346.02.03b01
Yep, i've already tried it but no changes at all... so i come back to 03f01...
I'll try to install windows system on separate SSD to test it on windows, in order to define if it comes from driver or from my GPU...
It is most likely the driver. There have been drivers with issues in the past. I think it was one of the ones for 10.10.2 would cause Safari to crash constantly.
Ok.
I just test my config on windows 7... everything rox ! I got 120fps in cinebench r15 open GL... on my hackintosh with yosemite 10.10.5 only 68.9fps... strange... is it possible to use another driver than the one for yosemite 10.10.5 ???
