If it checks for the card to be installed, how can I even get to that point to install it when it wont boot with the card in the system even if I have my radeon card set as the primary (i have dual x16 slots).

Can you boot with just the radeon installed? If so follow the link I provided to install the drivers without GTX 960 installed. Then before you restart add nvda_drv=1 to your boot flags. Shut down and install the GTX 960.

The 960 is working great now with all 3 monitors, but I have to enter "-f" each time I boot. Any ideas why that might be? Could it be related to it still trying to load radeon drivers for the old video card?

Try clearing kernel cache then reboot without -f.

Have you tried repairing disk permissions?

It doesn't work with VGA, HDMI port , No screen during booting at apple logo.
When i tried another monitor with DVI cable, it works like a charm.
Any solution for this problem? GTX 550 TI GIGABYTE PLEASE HELP:cry:

Looks like you are using a MacPro6,1 system definition. There are issues with that system definition and the drivers. I suggest you use iMac14,2 or MacPro3,1.

Also see here - Solving NVIDIA driver install problems

I install graphics driver and edit charmeleon and everything allright but when I turn on for second time, load frozen in the middle.

I try with some flags and nothing.

New nVidia driver checks for system definition and refusing to install on anything but MacPro3,5,6

Does such a 'modified' driver exist for the 10.8.5 Nvidia Web Driver Installer :)

I'm trying to multi boot - 10.8.4 + 10.8.5 + 10.10.x -> LG 34UC97
It all worked before using my AMD 5500 but I want to switch to a GTX750 ti (EVGA 2GB)

Its all kinds of pain. I cannot even get a clean install of 10.10.x or 10.8.4/5 to install at the moment.

Have tried card swapping tricks but cannot install the Web driver under 10.8.5 as I get an error saying 'Mac OS X version is not compatible'

thanks

The 750 Ti will not cleanly work except in Yosemite with the current 10.10.4 Web driver. There are no modified drivers for the nVidia Maxwell chipset cards for another version of OS X.

ok thanks Stork

Are you saying the GTX750 'might' work with a clean OS X install and the Nvidia drivers under 10.8.4 for example
(i.e. I wouldn't need to source a driver that didn't perform a hardware check?)

What would be an ideal video card for driving a 3440x1440 monitor under 10.8.4/5 & 10.10.x ?

Much obliged.
