Hey all,
I am having a few issues with the graphics card in my newly hacked Dell 5820. I bought a Sapphire Pulse RX580 for it, but it seems to be causing a few issues. I suspect it might be something to do with the legacy boot/UEFI mode it has, or perhaps something inherent in the Dell BIOS, but sometimes it works, then a system change (like installing the drivers in OSX for an RME HDSPe MADI audio card, shutting down, installing the card, powering up) will cause the system to power cycle over and over and over again. Occasionally it will continue on and boot with an entirely black screen.
To fix it, putting the Nvidia Quadro P2000 that original shipped with the Dell back in the machine usually straightens things out. It might power cycle a few times, but it always seems to boot to clover. Strangely, it also boots just fine straight into Catalina. OSX shows it as a generic 8mb card, but so far the basic experience watching movies or YouTube videos seems just fine.
Any thoughts on this? And if it is possible to get it installed in OSX Catalina properly? I know there are no web drivers available, but I was surprised it works as well as it does.
