I made two test.

-First test:
I reversed the kext: I deleted all the geforce text present in ML in the root system/library/extension and I put here the kext of lion 10.7.4

-Second test:
I deleted all the text present in ML in the root and I put only the GeForce7xxx drivers in system/library/extension of ML.

In both the test, same results:

1)absent blue scren if i change monitor resolution:then, problem solved!

2)popup notification is not working properly. Youtube videos not seen.

I think the solution to the problem is not far away ... if someone better of me wants to do some testing, I'm available:I have in my pc lion and ML.

Nvidia card used: GT 430

So would I be right in saying Multibeast 5 has not addressed this issue? (I don't mean as an oversight, just that we really do have to wait for Nvidia drivers).

There is nothing that can be included in MultiBeast to solve this issue. It is a driver issue which, as far as I can see, can only be solved by Apple or Nvidia - unless someone (I doubt from this community) can manually edit the drivers. Don't mean that in a bad way, just that this community is not known to have any programming specialists on-board.

Uhm... yeah, because throwing together something like MultiBeast or UniBeast has absolutely nothing to do with programming. And MultiBeast (created by fairies, not "programming specialists" that are part of this community) contains no drivers whatsoever. :)

So right now is it best to wait and hope or sell and replace with something that works? If the latter, which board is the closest functional equivalent? 640?

OK, i have Good News & Bad News

Since ML was released i have try to find the issue for the nVidia Problems. Now i can confirm definitive:
Replacing "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle" with those from 10.7.4 & repair permissions (very important) works!

Good News:
I have now:

Turning Off/On Monitor: - Works! - No Blue/White Screen anymore.
SleepEnabler Sleep/Wake: - Works! - No freezed Window anymore. (Do not Overclock your Machine, otherwise your Machine will not wake up back, but crash and CMOS will reset). Important is that the BCLK is set to default. in my case the BCLK is 133.
Youtube: - Works! Fullscreen & back, no problem
Justin.tv: - Works! Fullscreen & back, no problem

Bad News:
i have now:

OpenGL is not supported: - That means most of all Apps or Games are not running.
iTunes Visualizer: - Not Working
VLC Player: - Not Working! - Following message appear by opening a video "OpenGL is not supported"
Games: - Not Working! - Black Screen or crash back to desktop. (All Games)

So, what we have learned now: - This is a Driver issue!

1. That it's very important that the System runs with "default" BCLK, (in my case 133), otherwise your System will not wake up back, but "crash & CMOS will reset".
(that had nothing to do with 10.7.4 "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle" the "crash & CMOS reset" also happens with the original ML ""GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle", so remember to set BCLK in Bios to default. to prevent "Crash & CMOS issue".

2. That the "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle 10.7.4" fixes the Turning Off/On Monitor Issue.
3. That the "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle 10.7.4" fixes SleepEnabler Sleep/Wake is issue.

In other words, the "Blue/White screen & SleepEnabler" issue is solved now, but there is no "OpenGL", and we know, "OpenGL is really needed"

So now we need someone with magic hands to get inside either "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle from 10.7.4" and activate "OpenGL". Then we are able to replace those with the Mountain Lion one's, and it will work.

Only to let you know:
What is also have noticed, is that i Need to overclock my Hackintosh. if i Run my system with BCLK 133 (default) i got a very strange noise from my Hackintosh. This is not the case if i overclock and run with BCLK 150. So if i want or not, finally i need to run overcklocked to get rid of the noise.

I'm really looking forward for some help, as here my powers end, i'm not a coder or decoder etc... this is in others hand.

Thanks a lot.

cheers

So this is NOT a bootloader issue?

So this is NOT a bootloader issue?

Right!

I remember a year ago or so, there was a modified Tonymacx86 nVidia driver for Snow Leopard because many people had problem with Sleep/Freez etc...too. But the Driver was removed from the Blog because Apple starts to integrate the nVidia/GeeForce Drivers that worked well so far, till Mountain Lion was released.

So maybe Tonymacx86 is the Magician?

No help from me! I have a similar problem running GA Z77 DS3H, Intel Core i7 3770K LGA 1155, GTX 550 Ti, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB Seagate Barracuda.

After installing Mountain Lion "successfully" (straight Install; not Custom) in that I was on the web via Ethernet cord to my Airport Extreme, and using the Mountain Lion Mail and attempting to download MultiBeast unsuccessfully so far. Then with a little inattention on my part my Hackintosh goes to sleep never to awake.

Then after several cycles of rebooting I just wipe clean and reformat the HD. My most recent cycle has paused until I can download MultiBeast Mountain Lion 5.0.1 and see if that helps.

i think after fresh installation of mountain lion and using multibeast 5 my card is recognized in a correct manner... and i am not having any graphics issues or anything like that
