Hello, I am new to the forums and I am about to build an Intel Nuc Hackintosh with my friend.
I am going to buy this as the base but my friend was saying I need to buy a few other things for it to work.

I just wanted to know if I do in fact need to buy other things to put into the computer or if he was wanted to add excess stuff.
Please let me know what I need to buy with a link if possible.
I also wanted to buy a version that doesn't come with a cord to shave off 100 bucks so I would also appreciate a link to a cord that would work and is hopefully much cheaper.
Thanks and I understand that I don't seem to know what I am talking about which is why my friend will be doing most of the work (He has put computers together before)

Intel NUC computers generally come without a power cord, which should cost about $5.00 if you do buy a model without one (for example, here's one for $4.84: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000234TYI/?tag=tonymacx86com-20). Neither Intel nor Amazon is price-gouging on the power cord (it is the seller who is setting the price on the NUC, not Amazon). That said, you did notice that the $249.00 one is USED, not new, didn't you? That explains the price difference, not the power cord. Actually, if you shop around you'll find that $379.00 is a good price (NEW) for that model of i5 NUC (D54250WYK), with or without power cord.

And then there's the matter of the RAM and storage - NUCs generally come with neither. First, the RAM: there are two RAM slots; 8GB is a good amount of RAM to install, which should cost around $30.00 or so (example: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BP501AS/?tag=tonymacx86com-20).

For internal storage, with this model you only have the option of an mSATA SSD in the full-length Mini PCIe slot (there's a regular SATA port on the motherboard, but no room in the case for a 2.5" SSD or HDD). Here's a good, inexpensive ($72.99) 120GB option: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TGIVQ4G/?tag=tonymacx86com-20. The 250GB model is currently only $32 more ($104.99): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TGIVTP2/?tag=tonymacx86com-20.

Finally, if you want Wifi and Bluetooth you can either use two external USB adapters (one for Wifi and one for BT, but I wouldn't recommend that) or install a Mini PCIe Wifi/Bluetooth combo card in the half-length Mini PCIe slot. Read more about the available options in this thread; if you just want purchase recommendations, for $30-35, try this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D14PEAW/?tag=tonymacx86com-20 or this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JY6X9HM/?tag=tonymacx86com-20.
