Will this processor work in a Hackintosh system?

I'm currently running a Intel G530 CPU 2.40 GHZ 2M CACHE 2.4 2 LGA 1155 Processor with no problem, and building my second Hackitosh. I'm planning on a minor upgrade and moving the G530 to the new system.

I'm running a g620, i'm sure a 640 would work fine but i really doubt that you would notice any performance benefit. Most reviews say these low end end cpu's are about the same. That's not a shot it's a compliment. Maybe save the money and buy more ram, better case etc? To me it's a g530 or go to a 2500k..... the middle ground is a little cloudy.

Thanks for the reply.

I need to buy a new processor fot the new system anyway, This processor is only $20 more than the Celery I'm using. I don't think $20 will make that big of a difference in my RAM or case.

Actually, Amazon.

You will need a dedicated video if you plan on building a Pentium G6xx/G8xx system. I got my G850 for about RUR2000 ($65), and I used a GT240 video which I already owned. If I was buying a dedicated videocard as well, I would have spent another RUR1000 ($50) or so to get something like GT220/GT520/GT610, making it $115. On the other hand, I could get an i3-3225 for RUR3800 ($120) and get a decent CPU with hyper-threading, HD4000 video (which is about the same performance as the low-end nVidia cards), less power consumed by the system and less noise. Plus, I wouldn't need to use the only PCIe slot for the video card if I were building a Mini-ITX system and use the slot for WiFi card or PCIe SSD instead.
