Awesome site/forum first off..

From reading through many posts, it seems that most people run 1156, rather than socket 1366 here.. I know the 1366 processors are higher power, but otherwise are there any real negatives?

I'm planning on doing a build with:
650W PSU
NVidia Geforce GTX 260 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130434) <- not sure yet about this, also looking at ati 5770
Intel i7-930
Now there's the motherboard.. like I said, most posts lean towards the socket 1156... any ideas on what motherboards would be best for me? I care about transfer speed and overall video processing, as I deal with larger files for video editing, but I don't care much for gaming.
Was looking at:
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128423
but got turned off by all of the 1 egg reviews.
Then this caught my eye:
EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813188049
and
ASUS P6X58D-E LGA - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131641

I know gigabyte is the most supported, but does anyone have any input on the other boards or my setup overall? The dead board issues scare me about that gigabyte, and I've read on the forums that the asus has some support for hackintosh, but it's $$$... haven't read too much about the EVGA though.

thanks!

I've read of a few people using the P6X58, but I don't believe they were using the E version. You might try for the X58A-UD5 - right now there's an open box available for $213. Also look at InsanelyMac for more people using X58 systems.

Will check out "InsanelyMac", thanks!
