I was wondering if the Asus z87 gryphon would be able to be used in a hackintosh as it uses and intel gigabit lan used on some gigabyte boards, which I know are compatible. It also have compatible audio, but I was wondering if it would work

At the moment, the Z87 boards are unsupported in OS X. It is probable that either 10.8.5 or 10.9.x will have Haswell support, so you might want to wait a few weeks to make the final decision to purchase.
