Trying to get network going, launched latest MB for Yosemite, selected the AppleE1000e v3.1.0 to install, clicked build and install. MB says kext installed successfully, repaired permissions, rebuilt caches, reboot - no network. Open finder, navigate to S/L/E/IONetworkingFamily.kext, right click, show package contents and look at Plugins. No kext. Same ones that are in the backup copy I made, nothing added.
Are you placing it differently from what the MB description block is saying it goes?
"Enables Intel 825xx ethernet controllers. hnak's port of the e1000.sourceforge.net Intel Wired Ethernet for Linux driver. Installs AppleIntelE1000e.kext in System/Library/Extensions/ IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns."
EDIT: Never mind - found it in S/L/E
