I must have done something wrong, because my build now starts by default at "internal" partition, instead of the "el capitan" partition, as usual. I have to select it manually, and it boots. Tried to replace the EFI folder from a backup with no effect. How do I get the "el capitan" partition to boot by default as usual?.

Silly me!. The BIOS boot order was altered somehow. Fixed.
