No Sound - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Logitech C270 no mic input but with video.

I just upgraded to Sierra from Yosemite using Clover. My webcam worked in Yosemite. But now it doesn't have any mic input under Sierra.

I used Multibeast 9 to install ALC889 the optional and Optional 3 Port (5.1 Audio).

After reading some of the articles in Tonymac, I came up with a temporary solution. In Audio Midi Setup, when I change the Format to any value (e.g., 32,000 Hz or 48,000 Hz), the mic would work. But then, it will not work after a restart - in which case, I would have to manually change the Format again (to any value).

Attached are
1. Screenshot of Sound Input
2. Screenshot of Audi MIDI setup
3. Config.plist

Would appreciate help in finding a permanent solution.

Hey, is there a workaround to choose between Front/rear without unpluging?

Everytime i plug my headphones on my front panel the back stop working and i cannot choose between them.

is there a workaround to choose between Front/rear without unpluging
Two choices:
1. Modify AppleHDA.kext, see Customization.pdf/Procedures/3. Manual Speaker and Headphone Selection
2. Use SysPrefs/Sound/Output/2nd Line Out/Black port for speakers

Hi, Is the Realtek ALC S1220A compatible with Sierra. If it is any ideas on how to enable it. See desktop 1 for specs.

Thanks

OK, so I've been trying like crazy to get audio to work on my machine. Everything else works flawlessly.

I am running:
MacOS Sierra 10.12.2.
Intel 4790K
MSI Z97S SLI Krait
Realtek ALC892

I have followed several guides and debug instructions with no luck.

So far I have Line in audio working (I see the line in bar react to sound on the microphone)

None of the output audio channels work. The only way I can get audio output is if I select one of the airplay devices for the source.

One interesting thing is that OS X detects when I plug speakers in the headphone port. (Source changes from Internal Speakers to Headphones). Still no sound though.

When I look in the IO registry explorer, under HDEF@1B I have
layout ID set to <01 00 00 00>

I have tried all the things I can think of and am about to start looking into USB solutions.. I would rather have the built in outputs work though.

Any ideas?

I can see the devices, but can hear no sound. tried every port (front / back). media won't even start playing (play button does not react, progress stays at zero / mp3 quicktime, iTunes, YouTube). usb sound card does work.

kaby lake i7 7700k, msi mortar z270m, macOS Sierra 10.2

attached is piker alpha log. but I also tried clover and multibeast (each with proper cleanup before)
