Audio through DisplayPort is crackily, audio through Line-out (Green port on motherboard) is very quiet. Volume on computer and speaker amplifier has to be turned up to the max to be able to hear anything. Output controls for Line-out but no controls for DisplayPort (control over HDMI/DP isn't supported though, correct?)

macOS Sierra 10.12.2, GIGABYTE Z170X-Ultra Gaming, BIOS version F4, Intel i7 6700K, NVIDIA GTX 970

And tried using this guide but could never get past Part 3 Installation. Audio codecs were never found.

Speakers: DALI ZENSOR 1 connected to a Lepy 90 watt amplifier. Connected to Line-out (green port on mobo).
Selected output is Line-out (Green Rear). Audio on Headphones (Green Front) works but is quiet like the audio from Line-out. Audio works with the third from bottom Digital-out (HDMI) which connects to my Dell U2715H using DisplayPort but has some cackling.

and followed instructions. Downloaded audio_cloverALC-120.command.zip under step II.>1. and ran the program. First attempt nothing happened because the EFI wasn't mounted. So then I mounted the EFI with EFI Mounter v3 and ran the program again.

Did you remove VoodooHDA?
macOS does not support 100 Series audio

Do you recommend I remove VoodooHDA (if so how do I do that?). My motherboard has Realtek® ALC892 codec but I had installed VoodooHDA because this guide did it: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...sierra-10-12-clover-guide-100-working.203769/
I realize now that we have different mobo's but I had originally thought I had no audio because of the GPU.
