Hi Toleda
Motherboard green output - i have no front panel connected
I also double check all 6 motherboard inputs & outputs
then double check the headphones & itunes & sound prefs - I currently have good audio via Sabrent USB
thanks to Beelzebozo here
http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/98115-simple-plug-n-play-usb-audio-device-os-x.html *very fast & excellent audio fix out-of-box for $10*

Please Advise my next move! I have repeatedly run fresh installs and multiple kexts/patches/setups etc
<brain boiling over> this is 3rd hackintosh but first major block - all was sweet in Mavericks - your invaluable assistance required
or anyone else out there.. thoughts? usb3 issue? HDMI on GTX causing issue? CAN THIS BE A PHYSICAL DAMAGE prob? - how to test for this?

thanks all :beachball:

I have attached here my data for a totally fresh install
to recap; FRESH INSTALL of Yosemite via Multibeast 7.30
GA-X79-UP4 (rev1.0) / BIOS F7 / i7-3930K / ASUS GTX 770

Gigabyte X99M-Gaming 5, i7-5820k, ATi 7870 video. ALC1150. Yosemite 10.10.3. Clover 3202.

ALC1150 drivers (internal speakers, line out, digital, etc) show up in system preferences/sound, but selecting "internal speakers" (or any other option) results in the following:

* no beeps when increasing volume (volume on menubar is checked)
* iTunes not playing (time indicator won't even move. Switching to the Apple Cinema Display 27 monitor has the sound starting back up immediately, though going back and forth a couple times eventually causes all playback to cease until I exit.)

Oddly, the microphone works.

The board has no green/pink/orange/etc color coding but I did verify the speakers are connected to the audio out port.

Installation method - see page 23, post 229:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...mporary-guide-os-x-10-10-a-23.html#post909616

Thanks!

thanks- was trying so many variations - alas I followed again your instructions to no solution see below

CLEAN INSTALL (every time) - formatted drive
UNIBEAST 5.1.0 (1)
Yosemite 10.10.2

MULTIBEAST 7.2.0
(Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > √ ALC892)

NO SOUND

CLUE!
iTunes playing audio but no transport controls (greyed out)
playhead can be jogged manually, sound is good from USB (see previous post), but greyed controls persist

NO SOUND from any 6 (rear motherboard green, pink etc)
all SysPrefs>Sound>Output Devices showing No sound from any motherboard port (except USB)

can this be
1) ncpi=0x2000 or kext-dev-mode
2) HDMI interfering
3) wrong System Definition selected
4) USB3 problems
?

can we all agree there is an issue with ALC892 and Multibeast in Yosemite?
everything else in system is working perfectly except for USB3 (known issue - search forum)

thanks Toleda for your tireless work - I plan a full write-up here when the solution is found to save frustration for future generations!

clean and simple install of 10.10.2 with MultiBeast 7.2 ATTACHMENTS below

cheers

For each audio device (SysPrefs>Sound>Output), what motherboard audio port are speakers connected?
No, we can agree you have a system specific 892 audio problem.

OK thanks
I've done another clean install
and discovered a few more clues
i) if I install MultiBeast 7.2 - Select: Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > √ ALC892
but do NOT also select Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > Optional HDAEnabler > Audio ID:1
then I have no Output Devices available in SysPrefs>Sound
ii) with ID:1 installed there are 2 Intel High Def Audio devices listed under System Info>Hardware>Audio, both with audioID:1, but only 1 of which has devices listed

attached are new, clean install data with screenshots

thanks again

To be clear, I am testing every output (and input) on the motherboard (rear panel - my front panel is not connected - no case)

I am using headphones that are known to work. iTunes is playing (although transport greyed out) sound is loud & unmuted - both in iTunes and in SysPrefs>Sound - I can hear the sound via same headphones through USB adapter.

I then test every (all six colours) port on motherboard for each of the devices listed, ie
all 6 ports for Internal Speakers
all 6 ports for Line Out (1)
all 6 ports for Line Out (2)

i have noticed a red glow inside my optical output - cannot recall if this has been present before - no optical cable to test this output - can this be a broken connection? should this light remain on or is this somehow physically stuck?

I suspect (because iTunes has greyed-out transport controls) that this is an Intel HDA Audio ID issue?
or connected in some way with my System Definitions in Multibeast? (currently left alone at MacPro3,1)

anyone out there have any leads for me? please see previous posts for specs etc

User fail, see Post #1. There is only one port that works with each audio device. Reply with the color of the port that works with each audio device noted above.
