No sound on GA-P55-UD4P install

If the smbios.plist suggestion was directed at me. I already customized it myself to return the same values as a MacPro4,1. Before I did that, I had the loud plop sound when changing volume levels or after a period of not using audio.

Having to make that change disappointed me as my UD4P with i7-860 really is technically closer to the iMac.

I'm installing an additional 4GB of RAM this week, so I'll check out the feasibility of routing the audio cable around to the front ports as suggested.

I just sold a 2008 8 core Mac Pro, and aside from the headphone audio issues, I'm actually happier with this build. The i7 feels faster than the two 2.8Ghz Xeon's. I didn't expect that at all.

I don't know what changed, but the latest DSDT and the updated kexts in the new MultiBeast seems to have almost fixed the audio for me, I still get some static with my in-ears (none at all from the rear jack), but nowhere near as bad before. I have no static at all with my headset now.
Only my rear Mic jack works though...
