No internet connection.

I have 10.6.3 installed and booting through iboot legacy CD.
The Internet cable is connected but the laptop does not recognize it.

I used a usb to placed Mac OSX 10.6.8 combo update and muiltbeast on the desk top, but now am an sure what to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

As you're dealing with ethernet problems, at least you could find the specs of your Ethernet chipset out - it's kinda hard for everybody else here to guess about.

Thanks for informing me robinhuang that Ethernet chipset information
needed. I found this on the net about this model.

Chipset: Intel 965GM (800MHZ front side bus) with NVIDIA Quadro HVS 135M graphics.

One step forward I now have it booting snow leopard by itself.
Once I can connect to the internet I hope to run the EDP to
fix the other things not working.

Your Ethernet is BCM5755M.
