No Entry Circle during installation. How do I know what to fix?

Setup:
Gigabyte z170MX-Gaming 5
EVGA GeForce GTX 970
Intel i7-6700
Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SSD
Team Dark 16gb DDR4 RAM
TP Link N900 Wifi PCI Adapter
Seasonic 520w PSU

A friend of mine with the same build, with the exception of the RAM and PSU used this guide, and had a successful build.

I'm still very much new to this, and don't know where to start troubleshooting. I've redone the boot drive 4 times, and checked my settings in the BIOS multiple times. Couldn't find anything useful in the forums, and I don't understand a whole lot about how to hackintosh.

I can get into Clover, begin loading the OS. It goes through 1 long loading bar before giving me the backslash circle/no entry sign.

Recheck BIOS/UEFI settings, especially SATA Mode - must be set to AHCI.
