No devices/Sound GA-Z270X-UD5 - Help

Okay, here's the backstory:
1st build
Went straight to High Sierra so no previous installs.

I'd love to get native audio running on this GA-Z270x-UD5 board. Looks like it has ALC1220.

Any help, tips, warnings would be greatly appreciated.

Currently no output devices are shown.

Where should I start?

I have this same board and CPU, and I find AppleALC + Lilu with Audio-Inject 11 gets all the audio jacks working correctly on the ALC 1220.

I don't have sleep working yet tho, so I don't know if there are any issues with the audio after wake from sleep.

macOS does not support audio on non-native hardware.
Fix, AppleHDA Realtek Audio/Post #1:
I. Before You Install Audio
II. AppleHDA Realtek Audio Methods
Select one method and install

Okay, here's where I get confused:

Kexts​

1. 1. AppleALC
2. • See Supported codecs · vit9696/AppleALC Wiki · GitHub
   • USER: set Audio ID (decimal layout-id)
   • 2-4 codec files included
   • injects pinconfigs
   1. Lilu
   • patch kernel cache

If I'm reading this and the first reply from ReddestDream - I want AppleALC with 11.

So I think that means I need: Platforms11.xml.zlib

Am I right so far?

So I downloaded that and I'm not sure how to do the rest of the steps listed above. Can someone walk me through that? I'm assuming I edit something to change the Audio ID but I'm not sure what.

11 is the audio_ID I use in VIII. Audio ID Injection.

I do

1. HDEF/Clover/config.plist/Devices/Audio/Inject/Audio_ID, where Audio_ID is 11.

You will also need the HDAS to HDEF patch.

I got 11 from this guide, and it seems to work for me. If there's a better way, I'll happily try it.
