Hi, I'm fairly new with using Multibeast to install macOS Sierra on a hackintosh and have developed a problem. I've gotten pretty much all the drivers working (graphics, ethernet, etc) except now the audio won't work. I have tried a number of fixes (see below) but none of them have worked yet.
The issue I've got is that when I first boot up (without having installed drivers), there are no connected sound devices when I check in System Preferences. Videos and songs will play however there will be no audio. That makes sense, right? So I use Multibeast to install the Realtek ALC887/888b driver (see computer specs below). When that finishes, I reboot. After rebooting it tells me I have Internal Speakers or Headphones, Audio Lines Out, etc. But when I try to play sound through any of those, nothing works. Not the slightest bit of sound except for maybe an occasional pop or crackle. Also, any videos or songs I try to play simply don't play, and adjusting the volume/testing alerts does not make any responsive noises. It will get stuck at 0:00. So, I've tried resetting my drivers (THIS post) multiple times, and have even wiped my drive and done a clean install of Sierra–that's less than ideal. Still no sound.
Currently I have just gotten everything set up again after a drive wipe and re-installation of Sierra, so all audio drivers should be reset. Now I'm wondering what would happen if I installed the Realtek ALC887/888b Legacy driver from Multibeast. Would that work instead? Would I be correct in assuming the issue is with my motherboard?
Toleda's guides have been a huge help but the issue still persists. Any new advice is much appreciated! Let me know if you need any more info.
