No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Status
Not open for further replies.
I'm getting "no audio codec".

Upgraded motherboard and processor, and upgraded to Yosemite.
I've got everything working except sound.
Sound works fine in ubuntu 14.10, and Windows 8.

Mac OS X 10.10.1
ASRock Z97 Killer
Intel i5 4690K
nVidia GTX 660
Clover 3113

I've tried VoodooHDA, AppleHDA from MultiBeast, and audio_CloverALC

The Z97 Killer has Purity Sound 2, but uses the ALC1150 codec.
In Linux it uses the snd_intel_hda kernel module.

My AppleHDA.kext is back to the original 10.10.1 version 267

I've edited Clover to do the Kext Patching, for 1150.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've tried so many other things but I can't even remember half of them, to add here.

Cannot install one method on top of another and expect audio success. Each method only works on its own.
Remove AppleHDA892.kext Restart. Reply with new files.

Ah...That would make sense.
Removed kext and restarted and audio is working!!!

I'm attaching the files just because you requested them. If you don't need them now, I'll take them down.
I'll admit I'm not quite sure what that will mean for my audio if/when I update the OS. Does that mean I'll just have to reapply multibeast with ALC892?
In any case, many thanks for your help/knowledge!!!!Awesome!

My mistake, repo updated. Delete Downloads/audio_cloverALC-100.command_v1.0.4.
Download new script from repo and run.
Previous version is available anytime there is an issue with the current.

IT WORKED! Thank you!
Also, is it possible for you to help me with my sleep issue?

Use 1 method for install and after each Software Update.
If MultiBeast, use MultiBeast
If realtekALC-100 script, use realtekALC-100

Hi there,

running Supermicro X9Dai. Specs claim its a Realtek ALC889 7.1 Audio.

Audio device-id however is 8086:1d20 which is an Intel device. I´m not getting it to work.

The board is in UEFI Mode, so far everything works well except Audio. I am using clover in UEFI Mode.
Inject layout: 1 already.

audio_CloverALC-master is not working, says "Error: no IOReg/HDEF; BIOS/audio/disabled or ACPI problem" its because it does´t find one of the realtek device-id´s (0x10ec0889), I guess.

Help deeply appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

I've had the same problem that the device wasn't correctly listed. Rebooting helped in my case - perhaps you can give it a try :)

audio_CloverALC-master is not working, says "Error: no IOReg/HDEF; BIOS/audio/disabled or ACPI problem"
Problem: no dsdt/HDEF
Fixes:
1. Clover HDA fix did not work.
Code:
9:492 0:000 patch HDEF in DSDT
9:492 0:000 Start HDA Fix
9:492 0:000 Start Add Device HDEF
2. Post #1, I. No Output Devices Found
2. HDEF Verification
1. IOReg/Search: HDEF
3. If no IOReg/HDEF
1. IOReg/Search: @1B
2. Add dsdt/HDEF, select one method and implement

Three other methods available.

Thanks for reply.

Now have patched DSDT.aml and have HDEF in IOREG (Attached)

Still no codec-id in DCPI Manager :(

21:305 0:000 HDA Controller [8086:1D20] :: PciRoot(0x0)\Pci(0x1B,0x0) => codec not detected

Regards,

Michael
