Sound could not have ever worked, config.plist is not useable.
config.plist: Replace or remove every # property
config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch missing
Missed Post #1/I. No Audio Output/Audio Input Devices Found/1. OS X Version/10.12 and newer/2. CLOVER/config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/NO (all or remove)

Thanks for quick response, Toleda. I appreciate your help with this issue

To clarify, I did have sound working in El Capitan but removed 'KextsToPatch' attempting to uninstall previous AppleHDA as per instructions from the Audio - Realtek ALC sticky thread.

MultiBeast 8.0+, remove:
  1. S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext and install the native AppleHDA.kext
    1. or S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Resources/layout1.zml.zlib, layout2.zml.zlib, layout3.zml.zlib, Platforms.ml.zlib
  2. config.plist/.../KextsToPatch/AppleHDA (3x)
  3. L/E/realtekALC.kext
Should I have just removed the AppleHDA references rather than the entire section (which I read elsewhere)?

So that I don't make any further mistakes, can you please confirm that the below is the correct action:

1) Remove #'s from the config.plist but keep the other information in the field (I'll update SIMBIOS details to match my previous iMac 14,2). As an aside, would you know how this could have occurred as I didn't insert them mysef? Clover Configurator?
2) Re-insert the 'KextsToPatch' information that I removed.
3) As I don't have /ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/NO in my config.plist, remove <key>DSDT</key> from ACPI section.

Thanks again,

Widdershins

Hi toleda,
thanx for your wonderful work. After spending I don't know how many hours trying here I am asking for help.

I could make audio work in the past following your instructions but after updating to 10.12.6 I had kernel panic then from safe mode I could install nvidia new driver and I have the system working again BUT I lost audio that was working well before the update.

Now I'm checking everything and I can't see the problem. Please help me if you can.
Here's:

- macOS Sierra 10.12.6 - MSI h110m pro-vd - intel core i3-6100 3.70ghz -
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
- Multibeast/Drivers/Audio/ALC887 + Multibeast/Drivers/Audio/100 - 200 Series
- Attached (IOREG file)
- Attached (AppleHDA in System/Library/Extensions)
- No AppleHDAXXXX in System/Library/Extensions
- Attached (DPCI Screenshot)
- I used your script audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0f3.command
- No Chameleon installed
- Clover installed (config.plist attached)
- Audio_codecdetect ok (attached)

Plus I have one more problem, that for some reason that I'm still trying to understand every time I touch anything in the config.plist my system goes again in kernel panic and I have to boot safe mode and reinstall Nvidia drivers to have it work again.

Thanks a lot,
Sandro

removed 'KextsToPatch' attempting to uninstall previous AppleHDA as per instructions from the Audio - Realtek ALC sticky thread
config.plist/.../KextsToPatch/AppleHDA (3x)
The guide says remove 3 AppleHDA patches not KextsToPatch.
1) Remove #'s from the config.plist but keep the other information in the field (I'll update SIMBIOS details to match my previous iMac 14,2). As an aside, would you know how this could have occurred as I didn't insert them mysef? Clover Configurator?
Simply, used a config.plist from a different site.
Re-insert the 'KextsToPatch' information that I removed.
Yes
As I don't have /ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/NO in my config.plist, remove <key>DSDT</key> from ACPI section.
You have /ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/YES; edit YES to NO or remove all /ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/YES properties

Solved.

Just in case it happens again to somehow else, it's a very stupid mistake but I did it.

Probably while deleting a modified AppleHDA.kext file to install the original I must have by mistake dropped it in a open finder window or something similar, anyway I just discovered that I had a AppleHDA copy.kext file in the S/L/E folder.

I noticed it doing a kextcache refresh and reading it on the list.
Deleting the file made it, my audio is back!

Hi @toleda, I already wrote you in the past (page 244) regarding a problem with my sound card that I solved thanks to your support using 'audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0d.command'.
All has worked fine until the update to 10.12.5. After that, also if I use again 'audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0d.command' I have always only one device in the output sound [soundflower 2ch)]
Do you know what is changed with the update and how can I solve this problem?

Thanks!

Hi Toleda,

thanks for your answer.
My problem, as described previously, is that audio was working fine but after the IOS upgrade to 10.12.5 speakers in system preferences->audio are missing.
Only Soundflower (2ch) is present and is not working.

I attached all the files for problem reporting.

My system is:
Gigabyte Z87-HD3 with integrated audio
Intel Core i5-4440 Socket 1150
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD7770

Thanks
