Hi, I'm having trouble getting audio to work with my new hackintosh build. I appreciate any help you can offer
  1. no audio devices in system preferences, pressing volume change buttons on keyboard brings up the icon with the circle and line through it
  2. OS X 10.12.3 / Gigabyte Z170-HD3 / core i5-6400 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
  3. I can't work out what I need to do here
    1. I selected Realtek ALC887/888b in Multibeast, because my motherboard’s data sheet said it used the Realtech ALC887 codec. On initial runs, no audio devices registered in either system preferences or in the system report. I ran Multibeast again and installed the 100 Series Audio, in case that was also required (I was not sure at first and given installing is simpler than uninstalling I went without at first). On restarting, the system report now recognises the intel hi def audio, but it still does not appear in system preferences. I then installed the optional 3 port (5.1) audio patch using Multibeast, because my motherboard has that hardware I’m pretty sure. It changed the way the audio hardware appears in the system report, but does not affect the devices appearing in prefs.

  1. I just did a fresh install of OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 on my SSD. I went through MultiBeast to install the appropriate kext, and still no luck seeing any audio outputs in the System Preferences upon restarting.

Thanks so much for replying so fast! I found AppleHDA.kext in the end, and I've attached it and the boot log.

2. Mount EFI partiton
3. MultiBeast 9+ > Drivers > Audio > RealtekALCxxx √ ALC887/888b

doing something wrong
Ran 3 different install scripts; not compatible, audio failure.
Install one method; remove the first method, before installing a second.
Remove L/E/AppleHDA887.kext and restart.

Just to make sure I'm understanding right, I need to wipe and reinstall OS X and run multibeast again with those settings? Or just delete the files that change the Audio ID to 2?
