Newbie, New build.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/first-build-core-i5-8400-ga-z370n-wifi-i630-airport-card.258728/
The Audio problem is detailed in post #7.

In short, I am following the High Sierra Installation Guide.
It points to MultiBeast. Before You Install Audio: MultiBeast/Desktop/Realtek.

I get to step 6. IOReg/CodecDevice.
IOReg / search never finds "CodecDevice"
MultiBeast ... 200 / 300 Series /X299 Audio Device ID Patch
Build, Save, Install, Succeed, exit, Restart, Re-Mount EFI.
IOReg / search never finds "CodecDevice" ...

Everything is working well but the audio not.
10.13.6 High Sierra.
AppleHDA.kext is not from 10.13.6, install native AppleHDA.kext
Edit config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Patches/: remove one of the HDAS to HDEF patches
Edit config.plist/Devices/Audio/Inject/1: 5 is not supported on this site
Edit config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/Item 6, 5, 4, 3, 2: remove (1 Unsupported_Audio_Device_ID_Kaby_Lake patch only)

Save
Restart and reply with new files

Try Quick Fix: Z370/200/X299/ Series Kaby Lake Audio/Method 2
Restart, reply with new files

Downloaded RehabMan patch
Downloaded Kext Wizard. (The KextBeast Installer would not run.)
Installed FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext into /Library/Extensions
Restart.

No new devices in System Preferences > Sound, but … the DPCIManager finds 2 devices, instead of one incomplete device.

Before the patch:
