I have been trying to get audio working on my Dell Inspiron 7347 which has a Realtek ALC3234 chip, which I have read is the same as the ALC255. I have been trying to get audio to work with this guide, but all attempts have failed to inject a codec.

I have tried the most recent version of the AppleALC.kext that relies on the Lilu.kext for injection, and I also have tried one version earlier that does not require it. I have tried the 1.1.0 version of AppleALC.kext only by placing kexts in /System/Library/Extensions/ then rebuilding the cache, and I have tried the 1.0.19 version of AppleALC.kext by placing the kexts in /System/Library/Extensions/, and most recently I've tried to have clover inject the AppleALC.kext.

I am running out of ideas for how to get this to work, and I would extraordinarily appreciate any help! I have also read through the guide here. Enclosed is a zip with the information requested of desktop users in the desktop thread.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and I'd appreciate any help!

Obtain audio codec dump from Linux.
Use Mirone's AppleHDA patcher.
Apply required ACPI patches and install the patched kext.
See FAQ.

Thank you for the reply, for some reason I had gotten under the impression that Mirone's patcher wouldn't work with Sierra due to SIP and changes in AppleHDA, sorry to bother you.

Thank you again!

I have a quick question about Mirone's guide. When I go into Linux, HDMI audio is registered as card0, and my internal audio is card1. Will this cause potential problems with patching? Thanks again!
