Hey

Friend of mine made this mac for me and now i've been running into little snags. He is unable to help me with my problem due to a new baby wondering if anyone can help me figure out why I don't have audio after I updated my OS and then updated the audio drivers with multibeast. I did not install the Voodo option due to a major issue in the past with a kernal error. Not sure if anyone can help me.

What is your mainboard model and version? Are you using a DSDT modified for audio?

OK, open Finder and verify that you have a DSDT.aml file in the /Extra folder.
Then navigate to System/Library/Extensions and look for the presence of an HDAEnabler kext and the AppleHDA.kext.

Move both kexts to trash (requires password). Empty trash.
Run MultiBeast and select only the ALC889 audio kext. Repair permissions and reboot. Does audio work?
If not, run MultiBeast again and select only the HDAEnabler for the ALC889, Repair permissions and reboot. Does audio work?

Thanks for your response I really appreciate it! My brother in-law came over who is decent with computers to see if he could fix the problem and well after deleting all the Voodoo files and HDA files one at a time we now have an issue where the computer will boot but will not allow me to do anything after booting. So I have a Mac Desktop and can view everything and the time changes accrodingly (clock) but I can not open or close any apps.

Any ideas what my issue is now?

Thanks

The person who made my computer doesn't live near me anymore and I have no clue how to update audio drivers. I didn't know updated would mess with the sound.

Is there anyway you can write a step by step on how to fix the sound for a probook 6560b.

I was trying to fix it with MultiBeast but I dont know how to tell if I need to use Realtek with DSDT or Without DSDT and I am not sure which one to click under the tabs.

I looked up my audio driver which is IDT 92HD87 but that isnt one of the choices listed.

Please someone help!!
