Night Shift Mode

The contrast slider and also the "expert mode" switch is missing in monitor profile calibration dialogues... Any idea why?

LG can have a 'picture mode' labelled 'Just Scan' ie no overscan - don't know if that would make a difference to the EDID.
Thankyou for that suggestion, I’ll investigate that and let you know :)
If there’s anything else I could try please do let me know

Do you guys do not experience that? Can you test it with a black white grandient like backdrop, e.g. the apple provided "stone beach" image?

EDIT:
The Graphics info shows me: "pixeldepth: 30bit color (ARGB2101010)"

Is that normal? Was that 24bit or 32bit in Sierra 10.12.1?
Don't think my display supports 10/30bit colour.

Ok, checked now:

- Sierra 10.12.4 Intel HD4600
- Sierra 10.12.4 AMD R7 250
- Sierra 10.12.4 nVidia GT330m
- Sierra 10.12.6 nVidia GT330m

Always the same, the color depth is degraded since 10.12.4, no matter if bit depth is 8bit or 10bit per channel.

Have a look below:

Reinstalled 10.12.1, color degradation still is there. So some of these actions that I did to enable nightshift seem to cause this problem. But I reverted everything...

Use DarwinDumper to save a copy of EDID. DarwinDumper will generate a EDID.bin file. Load that file in the app. Sleect the type of monitor you want to emulate and click on Make. This will create a kext file on the Desktop. Copy that file to S/L/E folder with KextBeast and reboot.

I can confirm this works for me, and I'm using iMac13,2 system definition, and no DSDT or SSDT. My "monitor" is a 40" Hisense HDTV. Screen Shot 2017-09-20 at 13.13.34.pngScreen Shot 2017-09-20 at 13.14.15.png

This app did not work for me. The issue is that if the monitor gets detected as a Television under Display property, Night Shift will not work. So for me at least, the only way to get around this is to emulate the display as an Apple display and Night Shift mode gets enabled automatically.
