readded the created "DisplayMergedNub.kext" (this time just THIS kext)

(MEMO for the creators of KextBeast: Featurerequest! Please add a preview of any kext before copying to S/L/E ....for stupid people like me....)

For everybody else reading ages and still wondering how it worked for me - step by step

What you need:
Download FixEDID
Download DarwinDumper
Download KextBeast
___________________________

1. Dumped EDID with Darwindumper
2. Opened up FixEDID and selected my EDID binary (created with DarwinDumper) -- then MAKE
(ATTENTION: Check that Kext this is the only on on the Desk!!)
3. use KextBeast to add the freshly created kext on the Desktop to S/L/E ...
DONE

to CyCLoBot again.

Or use Kext Utility to avoid installing unwanted kexts from the desktop.

Hi Guys, I'm trying to run the FixEDID app but keep getting the message:
The application "FixEDID" can't be opened.
Anyone else have this problem with the app? Got the latest version from GitHub.

Hi guys! I'm trying to figure out why NightShift doesn't work, although it does appear in System Preferences. I tried to use some fixes above to change my SAT0 to SATA, made SMBUS and MCHC (not sure if that worked), but I don't know how to change PEG0 to GFX0 and get AppleLPC to work. I used VioletDragon's amls found here https://github.com/VoiletDragon/Series-100-Patches I just took some of them and put into efi/efi/clover/acpi/patched. Also I don't know what to do with the info.plist file. I feel like I should insert in into my config.plist, right? Also my AppleLPC doesn't load and when I try to inject it via Clover's FakeLPC_0020 I get kernel panic and have to disable it to boot. Maybe I missed something else... I'm sorry, I'm new to hackintosh, before I was using macbook pro, now it's too slow to my purposes and I can't afford a new Mac Pro, so I'm trying to make my first hackintosh

Also with this aml fixes I used some inside of Clover, like Sat0 to Sata fix and GFX0 to IGPU fix. Should I disable it?

Can you please check my ioreg info (attached) and see some of my screenshots and tell me what I'm missing? Thanks!

upd. it was the latest Nvidia WebDriver who caused all the problems. rolled back to the previous version and now all works!

I used FixEDID to create a copy of my current monitor, installed in lib/ext, and now Nightshift works on multiple screens.

The only problem I experience now:

The color depth seems to be reduced, like 16bit. If I look into SwitchResX, it says even 10bit per channel, (8 bit is already enough), but still I can see steppings in transitions...

Any idea how to fix that? Is it caused by fixEDID or some bug introduced in 10.12.4??

I never noticed when I was using this method. I have gone back to using f.lux. I find that it gives me more control over how I want to use the night time colours. I have an option to enable/disable dimming of screen based on what apps I'm using and such.

How can I remove this nightshift patch again? I removed DisplayMergeHub.kext, it is not loaded anymore. Still I can go into Nightshift settings...

I have gone through the kextstat list multiple times but I don't see that kext. Just to reconfirm, you deleted the kext from S/L/E, correct? What I would also recommend you do is download Kext Utility and run the app. It will check permissions and rebuild kext cache again. See if that works.

it was placed in /lib/ext and removed there (before it was listed in kextstat). yes, afterwards I did run kextutility.
