Agreed. The process worked for me as described for lower resolutions. I was, however not able to make it work with 4K resolution despite selecting Apple Retina Display. Not sure if anyone else was able to make it work by using FixEDID app and 4K resolution.
Maybe you can edit the EDID and replace in the kext to enable 4K.

I was able to select the maximum resolution with the Retina DisplayMenu app. I have attached it here. Give it a try.

Your rock, sir! Thank you very much! Works like a charm :) I was afraid I had to launch Retina DisplayMenu at every login, however I needed to run it only once, set the resolution and done. Once again, thanks a lot!

Before you use FixEDID and install the generated display hub kext, make sure you make a copy of your real monitor color profile, by using "calibrate" and then changing nothing, but saving using a new name. Else the original profile will disappear.

Same here, I deleted the kext file and it went back to original, but backing up is never a bad idea

no nightshift for me :roll2: can anyone tell me whats wrong?
iMac 13.2 should be able to do it, right?

Code:
iMac:~ user$ echo -n PEGP|xxd
00000000: 5045 4750 PEGP
iMac:~ user$ echo -n GFX0|xxd
00000000: 4746 5830 GFX0

Did you try the method discussed in the previous two pages?

this completely broke my Audio! yey.... but nightshift is on...

tried to redo the clover audio script without success... it told me it not recognized any audio

deleted the kext... no change... broke! :banghead:

That's not good. I don't see how this would affect the audio though. What error message do you get if you run the audio script manually? Download the cloverALC script from toleda's Github page.

i hada "imac" display and a "projector" (the projector was my HDMI audio) , Display names are back to normal since the kext is gone, but still no audio...
Code:
File: audio_cloverALC-120.command_v1.0d
Release Mode
Password:
EFI partition is mounted
System Integrity Protection status: enabled (Custom Configuration).

Configuration:
   Apple Internal: disabled
   Kext Signing: disabled
   Filesystem Protections: disabled
   Debugging Restrictions: enabled
   DTrace Restrictions: enabled
   NVRAM Protections: enabled
   BaseSystem Verification: enabled

This is an unsupported configuration, likely to break in the future and leave your machine in an unknown state.
