Hey what's up.
I do video editing and audio production. I use an external firewire audio interface and an internal pci e interface. I have always wanted to run OSX since a lot of the programs I would like to use etc. I recently noticed 10.8.3 includes support for Radeon 7970. I was going to reconfigure my SSD and install a fresh os, so I might as well give it a try if my setup is possible. I am pretty good with computers in general and have an idea at what I am getting myself into but I would like some direction. Thank you.

From what I understand Ill need another more supported GPU to get started since my Mobo has no built in card. Any other kinks I am run into? I plan on using 3 monitors like my current eye infinity setup if possible. I appreciate any and all help, Thank you!!

you may be better off buying a new GPU entirely. OS X doesn't fully support the 7XXX series GPus just yet. There are some tricks to get them to work, but its still not perfect. "eyefinity" or :surround" wont work but triple monitors will. I have 3 cinema displays, and only eyefinity works in windows. On OS X, each counts as a separate monitor.

Three separate monitors will work just fine. I don't game or anything so the eye infinity isn't a necessity, it's just really cool. As long a it isn't a mirror image it would work fine. Would you know if 1080 x1920 is supported on 3 monitors? Would it be easier if I waited until it was fully supported?

full 1080p would work just fine. I would recommend going with an Nvidia card as they are fully supported in the OS everything from the low end GTX 650s to the 780s and Titans are all supported in Mountain Lion
