Newbie, need advice

It's been a while since my last built whis was about 10 years ago and it's for windows OS. I have decided to build one with OSX and this will be basically my first one. I would like to build it only for video/photo editing and since all my software are MAC, i dont want to purchase another editing software for windows. This was the reason why I am trying to do Hackintosh. I would like to build a computer that doesn't take alot of work space, a mini or a mid range computer. Can you guys help me build a list in starting my build. Also should I get an 6 core or 8 core cpu...something close to the Mac Pro system.

Though there's nothing with 6 or 8 cores in the Buyer's Guide, it's still a good place to start to begin to get a feel for what is compatible with macOS.

Maybe you want to use an i7, there you get 4 cores and therefore 8 threads.
