Did everything correctly, but still have no sound.
I tried both ways (with a DSDT from the DSDT Database or HDAEnabler)
May be because I boot in safe mode?
What should i do ? I'm doing wrong?
my spcs:
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 bios FD
i7-950 3.06Ghz
Kingston HyperX DDR3-1866 6Gb
MSI R6870 Twin 1GB 256bit

Works a charm with my 892.
Sound quality is noticably punchier and clearer than previously with Voodoo 56, which was the only other way to get it working, and then inperfectly, had to check "Use SSE2" every boot to stop popping sound.
Headphone switching when plugging in front socket not functional using version dl'ed today.
Remember to delete Voodoo Prefpane if updating from Voodoo...

[EDIT] SOLVED - I had LegacyHDA.kext in /Sytem/Library/Extensions/ I moved it and Rebuilt Cache/Fixed Permissions (From Multibeast), and everything works now.

H55M-UD2h rev 1.3 F11 DSDT installed last week.
ALC889.
Everything works great on this board except Audio. (I don't have front audio hooked up, real panel only).
Multibeast 3.2 ALC8XXHDA and AppleHDA Rollback.
Profiler reports 887 not 889
/Extra/Extension:
Rebuild and repair each time I changed anything with multibeast.
anyone have any ideas?

My audio IS working from all sources, but my front panel microphone jack is not. I know that this is NOT a hardware issue as it was working fine in Mac OS using Psystar's Rebel EFI. So, it is a configuration issue only.
It's a GA-EP35C-DS3R board with the ALC889a codec being used.
A USB microphone works fine, just not the front port.
Any thoughts on how to get this working? Thx

Any reason why it's not working for me? I've tried everything except another Fresh re-install, which I'm really dreading. I originally had the VoodooHDA installed it wasn't the newest version but a few versions back, I can't quite remember which one, but if I installed the new one it would give me a KP at boot up.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Front HEADPHONE work, but MIC does not. I am on the same boat. It is the mysterious string/code inside the DSDT. hopefully MacMan will figure out sometime in the near future. As for now, use the back for MIC.

OK, I'm one of those who couldn't get ALC888 to work. So far I've tested DSDT.aml from the DSDT-DB, created a new one with Autopatcher GUI (normal and HDEF) and tried HDAEnabeler. None of them will get me sound. I've installed from scratch yesterday and never had any LegacyHDA installed. Allways rebuilded Caches and Permissions.
Hardware: GA-H55M-D2H,rev 1.4, Bios F3
CPU: i3-540
ALC: ALC888b (read from Chip)
Card shows somewhat in Syspref:
but in dmesg / kernel.log is something interesting, which someone had also in this thread, same problems:

The sound assertion error is due to your codec 887 not being supported by the current;y installed AppleHDA.
