Hi all! I have a probook 4530s, i5 2520m, 8gb ram, 120gb ssd.

I have always had an older macbook, never could afford a newer model and I finally got sick of Lion on my MacBook Pro 2006 so I decided to install Yosemite on my Probook. It has always been a very fast windows machine, but since installing OSX it is just frustratingly slow. I get the spinning color wheel for almost everything and I feel like there is lag after every click.

Everything else works FLAWLESSLY, all of the hot keys, touchpad, correct screen resolution, etc. Even books fairly quick, its just slow.

Where should I start? This is my first hackintosh!

Download patchmatic: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-maciasl-patchmatic/downloads/RehabMan-patchmatic-2015-0107.zip
Extract the 'patchmatic' binary from the ZIP. Copy it to /usr/bin, such that you have the binary at /usr/bin/patchmatic.

In terminal,
Code:
rm -R ~/Downloads/RehabMan
mkdir ~/Downloads/RehabMan
cd ~/Downloads/RehabMan
patchmatic -extract

Post contents of Downloads/RehabMan directory (as ZIP).

Also, post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

And output from:
Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu

Thank you for the quick reply!

Please forgive my ignorance! I figured out how to do patchmatic and that is attached.

I got IOReg open, and I see all that info, but what do I do with it? Export or save a copy as or something? I attached what I think you want.

Here is the info from the commands.

ACPIPLAT:
13 2 0xffffff7f8224b000 0x65000 0x65000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (3.1) <12 11 7 6 5 4 3 1>

APPLEINTELCPU:

23 0 0xffffff7f81ee0000 0x2b000 0x2b000 com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement (218.0.0) <7 6 5 4 3 1>
32 0 0xffffff7f81edb000 0x3000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient (218.0.0) <7 6 5 4 3 1>

Thanks again!

It looks to me that you have Atheros bluetooth, but forgot to install the bluetooth firmware uploader for it (IOath3kfrmwr.kext). It is an option in the ProBook Installer and is mentioned in the guide in step #13.

Unfortunately I cant say that it is any quicker. Sometimes, even when typing its a few characters behind.

Right clicking seems slow, and when I click the apple menu I had to wait about 2 seconds, then when I click about this mac it was another 5 to 10 seconds.

Thank you!!!

Looks normal. Is your copy of Yosemite from the Mac App Store?

You should test pstates with DPCIManager.

Is there any type of guide on how to use that? I also did some googling and only found that software for Lion and Mountain Lion, do I use one of those versions?
