Screenshots of my Unibeast process and failure to see EFI after the first time its ejected after creation, despite restarting Clover Configurator.

UPDATE: sudo diskutil mount /dev/disk5 works to get it mounted at least. Still not sure why clover configurator has this issue. I updated to the latest version that just rolled out 5.0.0.0.

I took note of the storage capacity of my drive before and after attempting to save bios screenshots with F12. I found that the storage consumption indeed does increase as I save images to the drive. The question then becomes why can I not see them?

Even using CMD + Shift + . all I have are the same hidden files and no .bmp images. Looking with terminal is the same, and same goes for looking at it from my Linux machine.

  • If you are still unable to use your macOSMojaveUEFI USB Installer to install Mojave on your chosen SSD/HDD, try creating an installer disk using CreateInstallMedia command on a 16GB USB Flash disk after it is Erased using Disk Utility. [See images]
  • Once the USB Flash disk copies the Installer files successfully with the Terminal command, as a second step, install Clover EFI (I like the one from RehabMan Bucket:Clover_v2.4k_r4701.RM-4963.ca6cca7c.zip) manually in UEFI mode.
  • Finally, open the CLOVER from the auto mounted EFI Partition >EFI folder and carefully check the contents of all important folders like /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64, drivers64UEFI, /CLOVER/kexts/Other, Send to Trash empty numbered kext Folders, open config.plist in CCG and check and edit as required ALL SECTIONS.
    • I have uploaded the Images of CLOVER subfolders and config.plist in my previous post at #6
Edited to add :
Images of Capturing & Saving BIOS screens on the EFI Partition of macOSMojave USB Installer.
Screen Captures
of Viewing and editing the EFI Partition with numbered BMP images in Preview
Screen Capture of Exporting and editing Captured BMP to PNG with a Unique Name on the Desktop

2nd Edit: I created UniBeast Mojave UEFI USB Installer to save BIOS Screen Captures in its EFI Partition. I had no problems to save and retrieve as shown in the uploaded image.

I am wondering if you missed the step of pressing the ENTER key at the OK prompt after Successful Capture and Save screen after each F-12.

The solution to this issue was to fully erase the disk and format to FAT32 again. I used my linux machine, but selecting a higher security option on a mac might work too -- the problem must have been caused by incomplete deletion or improper formatting done my the MacOS under default settings.

I captured images of every single BIOS screen and uploaded all of them. I numbered them in order (left-right, top-down, depth first) with a short, descriptive name for each.

What could cause the repeated "failed to lookup target storage class: 2"?

I agree with your rationale about questioning the need to affirm by [ENTER] key strike on that text that shows "....saved" OK.
What I am not confident is the language skill of Motherboard Manufacturers who have created the BIOS Menu and Functional keyboard commands!

  • I have not experienced this on my MacBook Pro or any of my Working Hackintosh Desktops' Disk Utility or when using diskutil command to Partition and Format the Disk.
  • Be that as it may, you were able to capture the Images in the Flash disk and that's what matters. :)
  • Based on your BIOS Power Screen choice, I have the following suggestion as shown in the edited BIOS_Power Screen shot you have uploaded
  • I have uploaded the BIOS screen capture from my GA-Z370P-D3 that has a perfectly running macOSMojave 10.14.4(18E226).
What could cause the repeated "failed to lookup target storage class: 2"?

Where do you see this? Screen shot please.

Ah I see -- I didn't mean to come across rudely.

Yea it really doesn't make sense to me either. I'm not even sure how it's possible, but that was the step that fixed my issue
I have uploaded the BIOS screen capture from my GA-Z370P-D3 that has a perfectly running macOSMojave 10.14.4(18E226).
Okay I went ahead and disabled "Platform Power Management" and enabled "ErP". I'm still trying to ensure that my config.plist is setup correctly. Once done with that I'll attempt installation again.
Where do you see this? Screen shot please.
It was in the dmesg output I posted above in #14:
failed to lookup target storage class: 2failed to lookup target storage class: 2failed to lookup target storage class: 2failed to lookup target storage class: 2failed to lookup target storage class: 2failed to lookup target storage class: 2

Thanks . I found the lines of text.
I am not sure what exact device is throwing this monkey wrench on to your linux dmesg command.

My usual approach to any such issues is to make the System very lean by removing all USB, SATA, PCIE devices I don't need during Hackintosh installation from the Motherboard so that BIOS cannot find them[as they are all basically Windows Devices as the MoBo is made for Windows] and cause issues with other Oses like Mac or Linux. I keep only the Mojave USB Installer and the target HDD until I have a fully updated macOS Mojave running with its own CLOVER. Then I add other devices and OS disks for CLOVER to work as the common bootloader.

During the entire set up I use Verbose boot and always take Screen shots for analysis and troubleshoot till I have a flawless system often multi-disk Multi-boot.

Looks like moderators deleted my last post (because it had an external link to a hackintosh guide I mentioned?).

Anyway neither booting with the BIOS changes nor using the hackintosh vanilla guide immediately worked out, so I’ll try a Unibeast install using it’s default configuration, then have another try at guesswork tweaking the config.plist and drivers via clover configurator.

Beyond that I don’t know what else to try. I haven’t found on this site a comprehensive guide to setting up the config.plist nor interpreting the verbose error messages. Mostly people refer to the clover zetam wiki page which Chrome says has an untrusted certificate and seems to no longer work (503 error).

Do you know of any similar builds that have a functioning config.plist or EFI folder I can try?
