yes, i tried to compile it myself and here is a question.

when i try to use new ACPIBatteryManager i go into "infiniteloop" of battery checking during system load. Have You ever encountered this?

No. It sounds as if you installed the debug version instead of release (battery status *is* checked every 30 sec). And... It sounds like you have a separate issue, perhaps a graphics issue, that is preventing your system from booting.

Best to use the pre-built binaries if you don't know how to use xcode...

yea, i'm not so familiar with xcode enviroment..

do You have pre-built versions uploaded somewhere?
updated: found at bitbucket.org

anyway what is the advantage of building it myself?

The only advantages of building it yourself (assuming you understand how):
- in order to make changes
- in order to run the latest version based on the source code checked in
- in order to learn how to do it

are those backward compatible with 10.9? what i mean is can i use those in 10.9 and treat as the newest version?

Yes. In some cases, all the way back to Snow Leopard.

Hi RehabMan,
I have some problem of the post-installation of my laptop Lenovo U430P non touch,
The Cpu is I5-4258U, Graphic is Intel Iris 5100, audio is Realtek AlC283.
I use clover as bootloader.

I only put fakesmc and VoodooPS2Controler into the efi/kexts/10.10 folder.
Can I use the rest of your kexts?
At this stage, I cannot get sound, video and Ethernet work.
I have tried injecting ig-platform-id for this iris 5100, tried many values, but get no lucky :(
Can you pleae help me?

Thank you
Charles Zhang

There is useful info at the u430 thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-compatibility/121632-lenovo-ideapad-u430-mavericks.html, and at my repo for it: https://github.com/RehabMan/Lenovo-U430-Touch-DSDT-Patch

What is the device-id of your graphics chip? Use DPCIManager->PCI List.

What hardware? (there is no laptop in your profile)

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.
