The original problem: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/nvidia-web-driver-ibooks-bug.203229/

From some posts, it could be concluded that
  • Old card with the new driver still has the problem
  • Pascal card (10xx) with the new driver does not have the problem
Could more guys confirm that?

I suppose that NV leaves the bug unfixed intentionally to force us to buy new cards. What a shame.

No, that is not correct. I've seen posts from people with Pascal cards that still have the iBooks issue. Nvidia is not intentionally failing to fix an obscure bug in macOS to sell more cards, come on now.

The GeForceGLDriverWeb and GeForceMTLDriverWeb bundles are shared between all Nvidia architectures and the are still signed by Nvidia. That is the root cause of why iBooks has issues. The people who have working iBooks and say they've disabled their IGPU are a mystery to me currently. I have no idea what renderer they are falling back to that works. It's also possible the software renderer has issues on some platforms and not on others.

On my system (GTX 1070) and the new driver, and I do have the invisible window problem. Just got it on the latest update to Little Snitch as well. Bummer!
