New install, stuck on grey apple screen with scrolling wheel.

I was having this issue too but modifiers -x and -GraphicsEnabler=No fixed it!

You did not fix it. You just used -x parameter which means safemode. You just booted in safemode. This will make screen work indeed but does not solve anything.
