Hi There,

I hope this is a really simple fix, but I just got a new 27" monitor (yay!). A huge upgrade from my pass-me-down 19" monitor. My old was connected via DVI-I port. New monitor is HDMI. My system recognizes four different devices: Internal Speakers, Line Out, Line Out, and Digital Out. Regardless of which I pick there is no audio. I'm plugged into the green on my mobo, my monitor does not have speakers I am just trying to use speakers through an 1/8" cable. I think my comp is maybe confused by the new HDMI cable.
Every once in a while I'll get some white noise, just sounds of maybe the bass coming through. That's it. I have the Realtek 1150 driver installed. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. (this is my first post, I'm hoping my build shows up under my name, as I've put it in my profile. I will repost if it doesn't.)

EDIT: No longer have the graphics card installed. Using mobo graphics and audio. It was a hand-me-down causing more problems than good with my windows OS. When I took it out I needed to reset the BIOS, but audio was working fine before I changed my monitor a few days later, regardless of the BIOS reset.

Thanks!!

Any thoughts on this? Is it just a driver problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Also, even if I unplug my speakers I get the same devices recognized in system preferences... Even if I change the audio driver. strange.

Thanks for the post toleda! I actually just fixed it by adding the "Optional 3 port (5.1) Audio" driver from Multibeast. Woohoo!

Disabled the motherboard audio input ports. Audio ID: 2 is not appropriate for your motherboard, use Audio ID: 1.
