Hi!

I have a EVGA 470 GTX 1280 mb yet contemplating upgrading to an EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0.

Will FCP X performance be supported/improved by the new card?

Thanks.

The best way to improve FCP X performance is to go AMD. You will get far better performance from a 980 over a 470 but if you want to get the best performance then AMD based cards are massively better than nVidia. Even older 5770's are still very, very good with FCP X and will eat the 980 up.

You can look here for more evidence.

If you are only playing with FCP X then by all means go with the 980, its a great card for BF4, but if you use it seriously dump the nVidia and get a decent AMD card or better still two of them.
