Hi there!

This system is mainly to be used in a recording studio, i am currently using i7 950 and figured its about time ill upgrade cause I'm maxing out the processor almost every project.
Obviously I'm gonna wait a bit for some successful builds to be posted here in tonymac before diving into the 6700k z170 ddr4 experience, but still...i would appreciate your opinion on the build

Being an Early Adapter is hell. According to AnandTech's recent article, the Z170 Deluxe has:

n...networking comes from the I219-V and I211-AT controllers and the audio is ASUS’s enhanced Realtek ALC1150...

Ethernet drivers are non existent right now for those two Intel Ethernet chipsets. So, hang in there.

BTW, you should check out BoomR's rigs and his posts in the Music forum section. He's a professional audio recording guy. He's doing a lot of recording on not much horsepower.

As a heads up I have heard that the latest Intel i5-6600K and i7-5700K are being supplied without a heat sink/fan. This is something new that Intel are doing and it is only happening at present with the Skylake i7-6700K and i5-6600K processors. An additional CPU cooler will need to be considered.

Thanks Adrian, already knew that, actually it's a good thing imo cause the target audience for these processors are of the gaming and working community and they rarely use the stock fan.
For me it's gonna be the noctua

Actually, as you stated it, that's not entirely accurate.

The Intel Sandy Bridge-E line (Core i7 3820, 3930K and 3960X) which was released in late 2011 was among the first retail processors I can recall Intel omitting a HSF assembly. That was followed by Ivy-Bridge-E (Core i7 4820K, 4930K and 4960X) and Haswell-E (Core i7 5820K, 5930K and 5960X.

So Intel has been doing this sort of thing for roughly 4 years.
